Sony smash hit PlayStation Studios video game Helldivers 2 is being adapted into a film.

"Helldivers" is a cooperative twin-stick shooter video game that was developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Computer Entertainment.

Helldivers 2, from developer Arrowhead, is of course heavily inspired by cult classic sci-fi movie Starship Troopers. It sees soldiers of the future struggle to defend a fascist Super Earth regime against alien robots called Automatons and bugs called Terminids all the while preaching "Managed Democracy."

Platforms:

Initially released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Microsoft Windows. It was later made available on other platforms as well.
